Open Door Educational Consultants provides comprehensive college counseling services to high school and college transfer students, such as curriculum, extracurricular and standardized test planning, college search, application strategy and supervision, essay strategy and editing, financial aid overview, and more. Our services may be provided via Zoom, email and texting, phone, and in-person meetings in compliance with FERPA laws. All student and family information is strictly confidential.

SERVICES AND PACKAGES

INITIAL STUDENT EVALUATION

A 60-minute working session during which we get to know one another, review the student’s courses, transcript, test scores to date, extracurriculars, talents/sports, and interests, and make any recommendations.

FRESHMAN YEAR CONSULTATION

It's not too early for high school freshmen–even 8th graders–and parents to start thinking about and planning for the college search, application, and admissions process. Open Door Educational Consultants offers personal attention and support to guide your student and you through college preparatory academic advising, including:

  • High School transcript review, evaluation, and curriculum planning
  • Extracurricular review and assessment
  • Summer activity/enrichment advising
  • Financial aid review and planning
  • PSAT/SAT/ACT and AP Test Planning and Test Prep/Tutor recommendations and referrals
  • College planning and consulting for students with special talents, interests, and/or learning challenges
  • Gap Year Exploration and Planning
  • Post-grad Non-College options and exploration

Comprehensive Package Fees cover the entire period of services through college decision, whether the student begins in 8th, 9th, 10th, or early 11th grade. Starting earlier pays off!!

GOLD PACKAGE: 12 colleges/universities
PLATINUM PACKAGE: 14 colleges/universities

Every Comprehensive College Counseling Package includes:   

  • Educating students and parents about college applications, essays, testing, admissions and merit/financial aid processes
  • College Major & Career Exploration through administration and evaluation of Personality/Career/Major Interests and Skills Inventories. This is KEY if the student is unsure/undecided or lacking direction!
  •  High School transcript review and assessment. Curriculum advisement as needed
  • PSAT/ACT/SAT/AP/IB consultation, score evaluation and test scheduling strategies
  • Test Prep Referrals  
  • Extracurricular review, assessment, and recommendations
  • Prioritize and edit activities for CA. Assist students with the creation of student resume
  • Provide extensive college research and search guidance; develop a strategic college list with multiple likely, target, reach, super reach schools
  • Provide recommendations and strategies for requesting Letters of Recommendation

  • Strategize ED I and II /EA/RD and Test Optional/Flexible options and application timing
  • Provide students with College Visit strategies and checklists
